For the past eleven years, Narconon Freedom Center in Albion, Michigan has been providing safe and effective drug and alcohol rehabilitation. With its central location, easily accessible to major metropolitan areas like Detroit and Chicago, the Freedom Center has been able to help drug addicts from around the world get back on the road to true and lasting recovery.

How the Narconon Program Works

The Narconon Freedom Center can handle addictions to alcohol and many different types of drugs. The center can help an addict kick recreational drugs such as marijuana and ecstasy, but it can also help an addict kick hard drugs that create serious chemical dependencies such as heroin and meth.

Every drug user that comes to Narconon Freedom Center is first given a personalized, individual evaluation. After ensuring that the program is right for the individual, he begins a regimen of correct nutrition, vitamin supplements and daily exercise. This process can first help the addict repair some of the damage done by malnutrition and a lack of exercise, two of the common symptoms of many types of drug abuse.

Students at the Freedom Center also begin a process of daily time spent in a dry-heat sauna. This helps the body break down and sweat out the drug residues and toxins that have accumulated in the addict’s body over the course of his drug abuse. Trained professionals oversee this daily time in the sauna to ensure that it is safe and comfortable for all students.

Life Skills Courses

After a student at the Narconon Freedom Center has successfully detoxed and removed the drug residues from his or her body, it is time to begin a series of life skills courses. Each of these courses follows a specific checklist of steps to help the student learn valuable skills needed to succeed in life and stay drug-free in the future.

The Learning How to Learn course teaches students basic skills needed to study any subject and actually learn and retain the information. By having these skills in place, students can then study the rest of the life skills courses and succeed at them.

The Ups & Downs In Life Course helps students spot what actually causes one to succeed or fail in life. Also, by learning how to recognize when your associates actually want you to do well in life or not, students can learn who their real friends are. Once they have this information, recovering drug addicts can stop associating with “friends” that will just try to lead them back to drug abuse.

The Way to Happiness course covers a non-religious, common sense guide to morality. Many drug addicts don’t have a working sense of right and wrong conduct, so this course helps students learn what actions will lead to happiness and which will lead to continued unhappiness and suffering.

There are several more courses that Narconon Freedom Center students do in order to put their lives back together, but this is a small sampling of some of the skills they can learn.
